Located in the heart of Mayfair, our London shop is a hidden gem that radiates the same level of warmth and intimacy as a couturier’s atelier. We wanted everyone who steps inside the shop to immediately understand the world of Métier; timeless luxury that is exquisitely utilitarian.
Our store design reflects the modern functionalities of our bags. There are hidden compartments throughout, and an understated elegance that puts you at ease allowing you to comfortably touch and try on each piece. The starting point of reference when designing our store was a vintage Riva boat and its cleverly designed space. We also referenced our favourite restaurant, Kronenhalle in Zürich, when designing our bar. Here, discover the inspiration behind 59 South Audley Street.
The main inspiration behind our London shop was a vintage Riva boat which is distilled into the materials, shapes and techniques used in designing the space. Like our products, every element within the store is a perfect intersection between form and function. Modularity is considered for shelving, display as well as storage and our walls are lined in teaked walnut and dark cherry leather to create a warm and rich atmosphere.
The bar at the back of our shop is inspired by one of our absolute favourite restaurants, Kronenhalle in Zürich; it’s warm, intimate and soulful. The green marble bar top which was sourced from a quarry outside Berlin invites guests to spend quality time and share stories from their journeys.
Finally, the vintage chandelier we found at Marché aux Puces in Paris adds a finishing touch to our shop. In creating this intimate space, we wanted our store to become a place our clients visit every time they are in the neighbourhood–not only to shop, but to take refuge from the bustling city and have a drink with us while catching up.
