In honour of our 3 year anniversary we reached out to our incredible clients, friends and family to reflect and share their fondest memories with their Métier bags. Some share anecdotes from the past, while others dream of the travels that lie ahead. From what our founder Melissa Morris has in the works to a Tippi Hedren inspired trip to California, meet our community and discover what they are up to below...
“Thank you so much for being a part of our story so far. Your support and love for what we do keeps us all going everyday. For those of you who know me well, you will know I am always looking ahead. And yes, I have my eyes set on a project I am so excited to unveil over the next year. Stay tuned… can’t wait for you to see! Until then- I hope everyone is safe and well - and really look forward to seeing you again soon and having a glass of Amarone at 59 South Audley.” - Melissa Morris, Founder & Designer of Métier
“I am very proud to have been part of the birth of Métier and have witnessed its development into the luxury leather goods brand for the global connoisseur. While staying true to its roots - merging the ultimate in luxury craftsmanship with its soulful design and the unparalleled functionality of every single piece. Big compliments to Melissa and the team!” - Reinhard Mieck, Co-Founder of Métier
“This bag has become an extension of me. It resonates with every quality I value ...” - David Mallett, Hair Stylist
“Every time I see those weekend holders I think of film adaptation of The Talented Mr Ripley and all of Cate Blanchett's trunks - that woman knew how to travel in style and I think Metier is the modern version of that. I love the craft, the timelessness and of course the dreamy leather. of Metier. All that luxury and quiet organisation promises an orderly, well run life. As someone whose work travel schedule had become frenetic, I am treasuring this moment of staying still. But every so often I get an image of my favourite Greek islands floating across my vision - can't help dreaming of that turquoise sea.” - Lisa Armstrong, Fashion Director, Daily Telegraph
“I traveled with my Metier bag to the most luxurious hotel in the world; the Amangiri in Phoenix; a pairing - like Taylor and Burton, or vodka and caviar - that just made total aesthetic sense. It was quite the ménage a trois...” - Jonathan Heaf, Chief Content Officer, GQ
“Ever since I got my Métier vagabond duffle, it’s been my favorite travel companion. When you spend a lot of time on the road, luggage that is as useful as it is good looking goes a very long way. Take it anywhere, take it everywhere. I do.” - Alessandra Codinha, Style Director, Departures
“I would take my bag to lunch with me at my favourite vineyard Castello di Ama in Tuscany. We would enjoy their most delicious wine whilst exploring their beautiful art collection. We would then drive to the Il Pellicano hotel in time for the most exquisite sunset which must be enjoyed with their fab cocktails. Il Pellicano is truly a piece of heaven on earth so my bag and I would stay there for the whole summer!” - Indre Serpytyte-Roberts, Visual Artist
“I chose the Wanderer Messenger in Suede Marrakech as my perfect travel companion for the inaugural Qantas flight London to Perth non-stop March 25th 2018.” - Simon Leadsford, Publishing Director, Conde Nast Traveller
“I love all the functional details of Metier bags, Melissa has thought through every part of our life- from going to work, to going to travel. When this is all over I can’t wait to take it to Europe - I’m really dying to go to Copenhagen and want to take advantage of every opportunity to explore new places.” - Ali Pew, Fashion Director, Goop
“I cannot wait to fly off to Il Pellicano in Italy with my Métier packing pouches and travel bag… it's the perfect way to break out of quarantine and travel in style.” - Natalie Kingham, Fashion & Buying Director, MATCHESFASHION
“My Métier bag was companion last summer on various adventures and escapades including a 72-hour wedding in Ibiza and a revolution in Lebanon - it copes with the excitement better than I do” - Nick Foulkes, Author, Journalist & Editor
“As we are all taxiing at home, I am looking forward to taking off the Métier way, with a suede messenger in homage to my father’s eighties style, and my distinct first US flights on Pan Am. Am already plotting to tote Métier to our beloved Shelter island, and onwards to our favourite hotels Finca Cortesin, Málaga and The Parker, Palm Springs. But until we fly again, Melissa, so happy you’ve made London Métier’s home.” - Emma Elwick-Bates, Journalist & Contributing Editor
“Métier isn’t only a brand, it’s a lifestyle. My weekend bag has traveled with me everywhere - from Mexico City to the English countryside - and I have memories from each trip whenever I use it.” - Laura Stoloff, Creative Consultant & Stylist
“Happy Birthday Métier. From the moment I stepped into the world of Melissa’s fabulous creations I was hooked. The versatility, functionality and quality of every piece is outstanding. I love how these factors are combined to produce the chicest luxury goods available thanks to Melissa’s amazing creativity. Please keep up the great work Metier and looking forward to congratulating you on your next milestone. Much love Emma xxx” - Emma Hague, Entrepreneur
“Métier is the height of timeless chic (much like Melissa herself) and the best travel companion. I LOVE the zillion compartments. You can't help but be organised.” - Isabelle Kountoure Style Director, The Financial Times How To Spend It
“I never leave the house (or the city!) without my Métier. Melissa is someone I admire for her creativity, her love for design and quality, and her focus on the smallest details, all attributes that put a Métier bag on a different level.” - Jannes Soerensen, General Manager, Beaumont

“I love that everything has its place and the beautiful quality of the workmanship and materials” - Sophie Ashby, Interior Designer & Creative Director
“My first Métier of choice was this men’s Vagabond duffle. There is this picture from the 60’s of Jean Shrimpton looking so effortlessly chic carrying a duffle bag and the Vagabond always reminded me of that. I am so excited to be celebrating our 3 year anniversary with our friends and family and look forward to endless sun-strewn adventures post-qurantine with my Métier.“ - Anny Choi, Brand Manager, Métier
“I remember how much I felt like being part of something different on my first trip to Italy, to a leather convention. Our attention to details, our materials selection and the obsession of our team in delivering a perfect product is what sets us apart.” - Leonardo Rosso, Store Manager, Métier
“I started working with Melissa when she was designing the very first bags and the brand was just an idea in her head. Her passion and drive stood out then and it’s amazing to see how Métier has come to life since!” - Pete Sampson, Website Designer
“Post travel ban, I’d take Tippi Hedren and my Perriand to California. I’m obsessed with the scene in Birds where she clambers onto a tiny rowing boat firmly clutching her handbag. Métier for me has this sense of vintage polish, the brand looks to the past but speaks to the future. I know the Hitchcock heroines would wear them today…” - Sophie Goodwin, Stylist & Contributing Editor
"This bag has been my work and travel buddy for a year now, I feel bad for all the other bags and backpacks that have been left untouched since I got this one." - Tian Sang
“I find the idea of travel, especially travel on one’s own, so wildly romantic, possibly more so in this moment than ever. I still recall my first solo flight for business, from London to Milan, possibly aged 22. I loved the notion that I could be going anywhere, for any purpose. I felt so sophisticated, just because… I cannot imagine embarking on any journey now without my Perriand Slouchy, and the brilliant side effect is that it’s really rather photogenic, an exquisitely designed addition for my constant urge to document.” - Sara Byworth, PR & Communications
“In our products we make there is also a small part of me, my way of being, my personality and my passion that I have for this job. Metier is exactly what I am.” - Luca Flavi, Head of Product Development, Métier
