Métier x Gohar World is a limited edition capsule of our signature design language reimagined through Laila and Nadia Gohar’s tableware universe of craft, tradition and humour.
Small but mighty, our charms are a masterclass in leather artisanry. Crafted in a seven-step process by our artisans outside of Florence, our charms embody the Métier ethos through and through. Discover how they are made here.
The Process
To make each charm, pieces of leather are cut and embossed to the form. Special padding called bombé is placed between the pieces of leather to add dimension to the shape.
Next, the two pieces of embossed leather are put through a high-frequency machine that allows them to adhere to the padding and stay intact. The two leather pieces are then sewn together by hand following the outline of the charm.
We then laser trim the edges which are then glued for extra reinforcement, and a strap with a slim slot at the top is added so the charm can be looped around the handle of your bag or neatly folded around a napkin.
As always, the final touch to any Métier piece is our signature eleven-step hand-painting technique to put a silky smooth seal along the edges.
